Hilton Americas for the Black Tie Gala & Concert featuring Lalah Hathaway. The gala and concert was part of the second day of activities for the 29th Annual 100 Black Men National Conference. The Metropolitan Houston Chapter hosted all attendees as the organization continues to fulfill its mission of serving as a beacon of leadership. Evander Holyfield, James H. Shelton III, Dr. Lee P. Brown, Ambassador Andrew Young, and Rev. Dr. C. T. Vivian were honored with the Chairman Award in varying concentrations by Curley M. Dossman, Jr., Chairman,100 Black Men of America, Inc. The event was emceed by entertainer Jonathan Slocumb and KPRC’s Courtney Gilmore. Some in attendance were the Kevin Patterson, State Rep. Sylvester Turner, Linda K. Brown, Drs. Docia and John Rudley, Bryce Kennard, State Rep. Senfronia Thompson, Rev. Leslie Smith, Congressman Al Green, and State Rep. Ron Reynolds.
